Here are two views of our solar panels. They are ground-mounted in our back yard.

  2. Who, Beeny? Is there a conversation I've missed or forgotten about?

Race was asking about them and said he couldn't access them on FB. These were taken with a phone, but they are pretty good.

    35 KW today!

  4. Oh, of course! They just moved to a smaller house, so they'd have to be able to mount them on the roof. After we bought our acre and built our new house, they went and bought 3 acres and built a house, and regretted it. I never understood why they wanted all that land anyway. My next house is going to be a loft with no lawn to take care of.

  5. We got our first electric bill since the installation. I figure we had about 3 weeks of solar panels reflected. I also found out that when the meter was running backwards, we weren't getting credit, so it was like we were just giving it back. That's been fixed, and now we'll actually get credit.

Anyway, the bill was just over $200. At first, I thought, not so great, but I checked last year's bill to compare--$424.

We've had a lot of cold weather over the past few weeks, a lot more than last year, but the bill was still less than half.

  6. Solar panel update--our bills have been on average, $200 per month less than last year's. We just got our fourth bill and it was $65. That's probably the lowest electricity bill we've had in 30 years.
